Mission Statement
Dural
Public School
Library exists to provide resources to support the curriculum and recreational
needs of the students and staff of the school community and to assist in the
development of information literacy of its clients. It aims to promote a love of
literature and reading and to develop a community of critical thinkers who can
locate, evaluate and use information effectively.
Message from the teacher librarian
Dural Public School takes great pride
in its school library. The collection, the facilities and the welcoming
atmosphere make it a magical place to visit and learn. Dural's library is
equipped with 18 networked computers and an Interactive White Board which are
used on a daily basis. The teaching and learning program promotes a love of
literature while integrating both information literacy skills and information
and communication technologies.
Timetable
Classes visit the library once a week
for a specialist lesson and once a week
with their classroom teacher. They can borrow during these lessons and also when
the library is open each day for the second half of lunch. They are welcome
during lunch times to read, play educational software games and draw pictures.
K-2 children enjoy a special story time with the teacher librarian or library
monitors.
